About Lake Mburo
Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda's smallest savanna park, located in western Uganda along the Kampala-Mbarara highway. Despite its size, it is one of the most accessible and diverse parks, making it perfect for short trips and weekend getaways.
The park features a mix of savanna, acacia woodland, lakes, and wetlands that cover about 20% of the area. This unique landscape supports a wide range of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and hippos.
Lake Mburo is especially known for species not commonly seen in other Ugandan parks, such as impalas and large herds of zebras. With fewer crowds and multiple ways to explore on foot, by boat, or even on horseback; the park offers a relaxed and close-up safari experience
