Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda's smallest national park, located in the southwest within the Virunga Mountain range along the borders of Rwanda and DR Congo. Despite its small size, the park offers a powerful mix of mountain scenery, wildlife, and culture.

The park is best known for protecting endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, making it a key destination for primate tracking. It sits high in the mountains and features three extinct volcanoes, i.e., Mount Muhavura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabinyo, creating a dramatic and scenic landscape.

Mgahinga is also rich in culture, especially through the Batwa people, the original forest dwellers who share their traditional way of life with visitors. The park delivers a quiet, less crowded alternative to Bwindi while still offering a top gorilla trekking experience
